Kitchen Music

The client created a rear extension which contains the Kitchen, Dining Room and Lounge into one large open plan space.

A Feature Wall was suggested with hidden Colour Selectable LED Lighting to create ambience for the Large 98” TV. The client loved the idea as it gave a real focus while also giving a clean and tidy appearance within the room.

All the Audio & Visual Sources (Sky Q, Plex Media Server, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Spotify) are viewable on the 98” 4K HDR TV including the Hikvision CCTV Cameras, however, the equipment is hidden out of sight in the central Plant Room.

A dedicated Control4 ‘Halo’ Remote Control has been supplied, making one button selection of all Sources including Media, Climate and Curtain Tracks easy and immediate to use. As well as this, full control using the clients Smart Phones and Tablets is provided with the Control4 App, offering very easy and intuitive access and control of everything from TV, Music & Lighting to CCTV from anywhere in the world. Two dedicated ‘In Wall Touch Screens’ are also located in the kitchen and Lounge to enable quick and easy access to not only this room, but the entire property.

To add to the lighting, more Hidden Colour Selectable LED Lighting is installed in the Ceiling Coffers and is programmed into easy to use scenes from the KNX wall keypads. The TV Wall LED Lighting automatically comes on and off with the Television.

The Kitchen has Stereo In-Ceiling Speakers, the Dining Room has an on Wall Television and Stereo In-Ceiling Speakers, the Lounge has a Large 98” Television with Triad In-Ceiling Speakers forming a 5.1 Surround Sound System for Movies and also a Stereo Speaker Solution from Devialet for Music.

This is effectively 3 separate zones of entertainment which requires a unique solution to be provided. Using Control4 we are able to manage this from any of the two in wall 10” Touch Screens, the Halo Hand Held Remote or the clients’ Smart Phones. Control4 allows all 3 zones (Kitchen/ Dining/ Lounge) to act independently or share the same source material in perfect synchronisation across the two TVs and the speakers of the 3 Audio Zones with ease.

The 'Media Room' is a marriage of 'Smart Home Audio Visual Solutions' along with 'Contemporary Interior Design Principles' that result in technically accurate and visually enjoyable space that are extremely easy to use.
